The Urban Development and Housing Ministry of the Rajasthan government has submitted a detailed plan to improve on the civic services in the twin religious cities of Ajmer and Pushkar under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). An Asian Bank Development Project will also make investments to improve the infrastructure for tourists to Ajmer and Pushkar as part of its Rs. 1,750 crore urban tourism development plan.
The JNNURM has proposed the following construction projects in Ajmer: Construction of indoor / outdoor stadium at Prithviraj Chauhan, Khel Nagar; upgrading of Patel stadium into an International Stadium, development of Subhash Park and the Topdarah Khel Maidan
The government of Rajasthan, in its endeavor to promote a scientific temper, has selected Ajmer as one of the 4 locations in the state for a Science Park. The Park will function as a science information and interactive learning centre.
The active promotion of residential and commercial property development in Ajmer by the State Government and the local Municipal Council is evident, and investors could reap the rewards of long term returns on low investment property options surfacing in the city presently.
